The concept

Some martial arts remain relatively unknown in France but are hugely popular abroad especially in Japan. That’s the case for K-1 Grand Prix, a true show which gathers together top flight heavyweight fighters with spactacular and efficient styles. Inspired by his experience in the field Géraud Genty has decided to organise a tournament in Dunkirk which is true to the spirit of K-1. This will be an opportinuty for the people of the region to discover this new kind of martial art which combines fighting and showmanship.

With this in mind he decided to organise a tournament in Dunkirk true to the spirit of K-1; the DK-1 Fighting Championship. Just like Las Vegas, a major round in the K-1 GP outside Japan, Dunkirk will have a fightcard which includes some of the best heavyweights in the kick boxing world.

The Kursaal Dunkirk is an excellent venue, and ideal for this kind of event. Such an unforgettable show will bring together a crowd who can bathe in an atmosphere of force, power and excitement, based on ultimate respect and friendship.
