The Arena

On the 11th of November 2006 a battle without precedent in the sporting history of the town will take place at The Kursaal in Dunkirk. Real modern day gladiators, some of whom are amongst the World’s best heavyweights, will do battle according to Kick-Boxing rules.

In an electric atmosphere and in front of a fervent crowd, the eight warriors will be determined to use their fighting skills to win the final trophy. Eight men begin, only one survives.

The DK-1 FC will also see a revenge match which will pit the speed of the Englishman XXX, against the devastating punch of the superstar of K-1 XXX. These fighters are so fearsome that the fight probably won’t go to the bell.

It will also see the final fight of the American XXX. His own French origins and French wife are the reasons for his choice of France for his jubilee.

The last superfight will set the American XXX against the Frenchman with a similar style, Géraud Genty. XXX is favourite on paper but he will have his work cut-out for him against a Frenchman in front of his home crowd.

The tournament will propose one of the finest fightcards of the moment. It will mark the end of the year and is on its way to becoming a key event in the Kick-Boxing universe.
